Jamie Clarke

Extreme Adventurer | Entrepreneur | Performance Coach

Business is an adventure — and mountain-climber Jamie Clarke helps audiences reach their unique Everest by showing them how to build and lead teams to success. An acclaimed adventurer, mountaineer, and entrepreneur, Jamie draws on his unique background to share essential tips on managing risk while navigating challenges, scaling new heights while retaining passion, and fostering an honest, authentic workplace culture that stays true to its mission.

Jamie is one of a select few to achieve the rare feat climbing the Seven Summits—the highest peak on each continent. He has reached the Everest summit twice, but only after his first two attempts were cut short by deadly storms that left him just a few feet from the summit. Determined and dedicated, he reached his goal in 1997 and 2010.

Always seeking new adventures, Jamie has ridden camels across the Empty Quarter of Arabia, motorbiked across Mongolia with his son, and served as a performance coach for Olympians, the NFL, Hockey Canada, and the 2018 Stanley Cup-winning Washington Capitals. He is currently a fellow and associate professor at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business where he teaches and mentors in the Centre for Advanced Leadership.

Jamie is also the founder and former CEO of Live Out There Inc., a mountaineer clothing e-commerce business that earned multiple nominations for the Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards. His keynotes leave audiences with powerful insights and actionable takeaways.
