Sandy is a semi-retired Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Licensed Insolvency Trustee residing in Lethbridge, Alberta.
With over 40 years of experience, Sandy offers his expertise on a contractual basis to various businesses and insolvency firms. His professional practice spans financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and risk management, offering restructuring solutions that are enriched by his background in family agricultural business and a deep understanding of the financial challenges that individuals and businesses face at different life stages.
Together with his wife, Bernadette, Sandy also runs Sparkplug Consulting Inc., dedicating their spare time to supporting individuals, community groups, and not-for-profit organizations in achieving holistic health, sound financial management, and effective board governance.
His commitment to community service is evident in his extensive volunteer work, which includes roles with the CPA Canada Financial Literacy Program, CPA Canada Speakers Bureau, and CPA Alberta Mentor Programs.
Sandy's leadership and dedication have marked his tenure as past director and president of AAIRP, board chair of the Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta, and director of several organizations including the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Insolvency Foundation, Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, and the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.
