Dr. Jodie Lobana Dr. Jodie Lobana CPA, CA stands at the forefront of AI governance as a distinguished Director, Educator, Author, and Board Trainer. Her specialization includes the Governance of AI, Ethics of AI, Risk Management of AI, and the Human Dimensions of AI.
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration focused on AI governance, along with professional designations such as CPA, CA, CIA, and CISA.
Her forthcoming book, "Holistic Governance of Artificial Intelligence," builds on her groundbreaking doctoral research. As the Managing Director of Lobana Consulting Group Inc., Dr. Lobana provides advanced training and consulting services in AI governance and risk management to leading corporations and governments worldwide.
Dr. Lobana actively shapes the industry's future through her role as the Chair of the Advisory Board of McMaster Artificial Intelligence Society and has held significant positions such as the past Chair of the Technology Steering Committee of OECM and roles on boards like the University of Waterloo's UWCISA Institute, IIA Canada, and CPA Canada's technology advisory committee. She was also a Board Member of the International Internal Audit Standards Board. Notably, she facilitated a pivotal memorandum of understanding between CPA Canada and IIA Canada to foster industry collaboration.
Dr. Lobana has made a global impact, collaborating with more than 50 organizations worldwide. Her distinguished honors include the "2013 Award of Distinction" from CPA Ontario, the "2019 Mary Keyes Award" for leadership at McMaster, the "McMaster Women in Tech August 2020 Changemaker," and the "Modern Governance 100 Award 2023."
As a dedicated educator, Dr. Lobana teaches the "Governance of Information Technology" course at York University. Her previous academic roles include teaching AI Ethics at Queens University, "Customer Value Generation" through digital channels at McMaster University, along with courses at the University of Waterloo and the Indian Institute of Technology.
