The Professional Governance Act has been introduced

On March 11, Bill 40, the Professional Governance Act, was introduced in the Alberta Legislature. If passed, the act will bring more than 20 professional regulators, including CPA Alberta, together under a single piece of legislation.
CPA Alberta has anticipated the introduction of this bill for some time. It is based on and if passed, would replace, our founding legislation, the Chartered Professional Accountants Act. Over the coming weeks, CPA Alberta will review the legislation as tabled to understand what impact it may have on the profession.
